This Digital Marketing Associate will sit on the Donor Marketing team within the External Relations department. The role will support new and existing initiatives to raise funds, engage and steward constituents, and other support to the Digital Marketing team. The position will be closely involved with a broad spectrum of Action Against Hunger’s work in digital fundraising and digital campaigns, including paid media, email marketing, SMS, data and analytics, conversion rate optimization, and website updates and administration. 

Purpose: Support new and existing initiatives to raise funds digitally, drive acquisition, engage and steward constituents, and support all digital fundraising initiatives across the digital team. 

Engagement: The Digital Marketing Associate reports to and works closely with the Digital Lead. This role also supports the Digital Marketing Officers as well as others on the Donor Marketing Team.  The Associate collaborates with the digital team as well as the wider External Relations team to reach fundraising goals.

Delivery: Effectively provides digital fundraising support, working across a breadth of digital fundraising activities. 


Key activities in your role will include

Support email and SMS marketing programs

  • Assist with executing strategy and implementation of email and SMS programs, including all appeals and stewardship campaigns

  • Support project management of workflow for all email and SMS 

  • Assist on providing feedback on copy and segmentation, and provide review and testing on emails and SMS messages 

  • Work with the Digital Marketing Officer to produce and refresh automated drip campaigns, to steward and retain donors

  • Pull and maintain email performance metrics 

  • Maintain email and SMS calendar and dashboard

Support the Paid Media Program  

  • Support creative asset process for paid media advertising with creative agency – from idea to deployment 

  • Assist on paid media campaigns including lead generation and direct fundraising, including creating reports, updating presentations, and gathering assets for new ad requests 

  • Assist in paid media strategy, reporting, and creative deployment

  • Maintain paid media asset tracking and advertising asset library 

  • Research and stay on top of latest developments in digital advertising space 

  • Work with paid media agencies to implement strategy 

Website Administration  

  • Implement website updates for other teams as needed 

  • Update donate pages, forms, and receipts as needed

  • Assist in building and testing website landing pages, surveys, slideshows, etc. as needed 

  • Review and test website functionality and website changes as needed 

Administration  

  • Pull and refresh audience data for advertising targets 

  • Assist in building segments for email, SMS, and advertising targets 

  • Assist in building presentations and updating digital metrics reports 

  • Filing contracts and reporting 

  • Scheduling internal and external meetings

  • Coordinating agendas, note taking, and recording actions

  • Processing vendor invoices 


Do you meet the profile required criteria?
  • 1-2 years of work experience  

  • Experience with a variety of digital platforms – for example: MailChimp (email), Pardot (email), Mogli (SMS), Funraise (donation platform) and Raiser’s Edge or Salesforce (CRMs) 

  • Basic skills in Photoshop, HTML, and CSS 

  • Familiarity with digital marketing metrics and most commonly used digital channels 

  • Familiarity with the WordPress CMS preferred 

  • Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools like Basecamp 

  • Creative thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and a real “can do” attitude 

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment 

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills  

  • Good editorial and writing skills, especially in web and email marketing contexts  

  • Positive and collaborative 

  • Excellent organizational skills

Gross annual starting salary : $50,000-$53,000
